So, what is the Ben Automotive charity and why is it so important to us all in the automotive industry?
Ben is a non-profit organisation that partners with the automotive industry to provide support for life to its people and their families.
Ben provides free, confidential advice and support, with a focus on the four main areas of people’s health and wellbeing:
This incredible support is provided to anyone who works, or has worked, in the automotive industry, as well as their family dependents.
Pretty great huh?
However, all of the above is only feasible with support and funding!
#DoYourBit – What have we done?
2015 was when our GardX adventure with Ben Automotive Charity began.
It all started when we signed up to take part in the ever so famous automotive road trip, Bangers4Ben.
Bangers4Ben is a charity trip organised by Car Dealer magazine, a 4-day event where participants travel across Europe in a banger worth no more than £750. The best part about the trip is that all the teams are encouraged to theme their car and dress in fancy dress.
Over the past four years we have travelled over 12,000 miles across Europe in impressive ‘pimped out bangers’ - from Scooby’s mystery machine, to a ski chalet to even a real-life replica of a BTCC winning race car!
Not only have our cars impressed, we have also dressed to impress!
Our trophy cabinet is now stocked up with multiple ‘Best Fancy Dress’ awards from the past 4 Bangers4Ben trips – our social media following, and general service station passers-by have been lucky enough to witness the likes of Scooby Do, The Mummy, GardX cows and of course GardX grid girls to name a few.
Not only have we participated in 4 years of Bangers4Ben but for 3 years we also set our sights on the sea in an attempt to sail across the Solent in our very own GardX yacht in the Automotive Challenge Cup for Ben. This exciting corporate sailing event focuses on team building, networking and of course raising lots of money for Ben!
As well as participating in other events for Ben such as the Ben Charity Ball.
But why go to these extreme lengths to make ourselves look life fools?
All in the name of charity of course!
We’re very proud to have raised over £20,000 for Ben since 2015 and will continue to do our bit for this brilliant charity.
