New 19 Registrations too Rude for your Vehicle

Can you imagine a job that requires you to go to work and find rude words in registration plates without getting told off by H.R?

Well, that type of job exists!

Every March and September the (DVLA) Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) creates a blacklist of registrations that it has withheld for the reason of being too rude. The banned plates are combinations of letters and numbers which could be interpreted as spelling out anything from a swear word or racial slur to the name of a terrorist organisation or playground taunt.

So if you were hoping for your plate to read AB19 NOB then you are out of luck, and *B19 SHT and *B19 TTS are off the table as well!

A DVLA spokesperson said: ‘The vast majority of registration numbers are made available, but the agency holds back any combinations that may cause offence, embarrassment or are in poor taste.’

Here are few of just the tamest ones:

  • F19 ART
  • DO19 POO
  • OR19 ASM
  • B19 BUT
